Couples Counselling

Every relationship goes through difficult periods. Sometimes couples find themselves having the same argument on repeat, drifting apart, or struggling to talk without conflict. Couples counselling offers a calm, neutral space where both of you can feel heard — and where you can start to understand each other again.

Who couples counselling is for

I work with couples at every stage of a relationship, whether you are married, living together, or in a newer partnership. Common reasons couples come to counselling include:

  • Communication difficulties and repeated arguments
  • Loss of trust, including after an affair
  • Feeling distant, disconnected or “more like flatmates”
  • Life transitions — a new baby, children leaving home, retirement, relocation
  • Differences over money, family or the future
  • Deciding whether to stay together, or how to separate well

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. Many couples come simply because they want to strengthen their relationship and understand each other better.

What to expect

Couples sessions last 60 minutes and both partners attend together. My role is not to take sides or to judge — it is to help each of you express what you are feeling, listen to one another, and find new ways of relating. As with all my work, I offer an empathic, non-judgemental space and we go at a pace that feels manageable for both of you.

What if my partner is unsure about coming

It’s very common for one partner to be more hesitant than the other. The free initial consultation is a low-pressure way to ask questions and see how it feels — there is no obligation to continue. If your partner isn’t ready, individual counselling can also be a helpful place to start.

Getting Started

Every new client begins with a free 20-minute telephone or online consultation. It's a chance to ask any questions you may have, tell me what you'd like to get from counselling, and see whether I feel like the right fit for you. There's no obligation to continue.

Individual Counselling

Sessions are 50 minutes, once a week, at a regular time that suits you. I work with depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, panic attacks and major life changes. Weekly sessions help us keep momentum and give you consistent support.

Couples Counselling

I offer counselling for couples who want to communicate better, work through conflict, rebuild trust, or simply want to reconnect. Together, we'll explore what's happening in your relationship and find new ways of understanding each other, so both partners feel heard.

READY TO TAKE THE FIRST STEPS

Whether you’re curious about sessions, fees, or how counselling works — for yourself or as a couple — I’m happy to answer any questions. Your first 20-minute consultation is free.
